Yep, that's right, we'll be pushin' our special brand of in-yer-face polka at this traditional celebration of all things Polish! More than a few eyebrows are likely to be raised as we entertain the crowd with some EXTREME POLKA! You won't want to miss this culture clash - it may never happen again!!
Wow- I have something in common with a Bear! I do not like Busch beer either- or Bush for that matter!!

BAKER LAKE, Wash. - Rain-eeeeer .... Bear?
When state Fish and Wildlife agents recently found a black bear passed out on the lawn of Baker Lake Resort, there were some clues scattered nearby - dozens of empty cans of Rainier Beer.
The bear apparently got into campers' coolers and used his claws and teeth to puncture the cans. And not just any cans.
"He drank the Rainier and wouldn't drink the Busch beer," said Lisa Broxson, bookkeeper at the campground and cabins resort east of Mount Baker.
Fish and Wildlife enforcement Sgt. Bill Heinck said the bear did try one can of Busch, but ignored the rest.
"He didn't like that (Busch) and consumed, as near as we can tell, about 36 cans of Rainier."
A wildlife agent tried to chase the bear from the campground but the animal just climbed a tree to sleep it off for another four hours. Agents finally herded the bear away, but it returned the next morning.
Agents then used a large, humane trap to capture it for relocation, baiting the trap with the usual: doughnuts, honey and, in this case, two open cans of Rainier. That did the trick.
"This is a new one on me," Heinck said. "I've known them to get into cans, but nothing like this. And it definitely had a preference."

Can't please everyone....
Rock and Roll icons are now on beer cans- sounds good to me!
From CNN"... everyone has an opinion when it comes to rock, and maybe the cans were meant to generate buzz more than anything else... lot of people will have a lot to say about this list...Oftentimes that's the point."
Critics brewing over Rock 'n' Roll cans

Wow- we're going global!!
The Decatur Celebrations was a really fun time- we played three great sets, ate a lot of fried food (ever had a deep fried Twinkie?) Mmmm mmm good! Sold a lot of T-shirts, signed a lot of autographs, drank a lot of beer, met some really cool people, and my mom finally got to see us play!
Yes it was a great time- that is until some asshole decided to steal my wallet out of my instrument case while I was on stage. The thing that really upsets me is that the case was only four feet away from me on the stage while I was playing. I guess it's my own fault for not keeping a better eye on it but it still upsets me that some jerk-wad asshole would do this. Well- he only got about $20 and a credit card that's no longer valid, and my driver's license--I hated the picture on that thing anyway.
So to sum up this weekend the polka was great but getting a new driver's license is a real pain in the ass!!!
We are playing THIS SATURDAY August 7th at The Decatur Celebration 2004
We have not one, not two but THREE sets of People Pleasing Polka- 3:00 pm, 5:30 pm, and 9:00 pm at the North Street Stage (corner of North and State)

From their web site:

The Mueller Company Razzle Dazzle Goodtimes Parade, held at 10 am on Saturday, has several entertainment attractions, marching bands, and floats. The Razzle Dazzle Goodtimes Parade can be seen throughout Central Illinois on WAND-TV. It is the only parade in Illinois to be televised live, outside of Chicago.
Thanks to all who came out the Polka Party at Lincoln Square Lanes on Saturday night! Janien Guntermann and Paul Leske took some great shots and were kind enough to let me post a few of them here on the Extreme Polka Blog.
It was a great night! And if my little sister is reading this- thanks for calling during the show, how was it to have an entire club full of people shout "hello"!?!
Well the Baby Doll Polka Club may be but a distant memory, but the Polka keeps going strong! And we certainly will keep pushing the polka until we are all pushing up daisies!!!
