Introduction
The Surf Ballroom is located in Clear Lake, Iowa and it is where Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper (J.P. Richardson) had their last concert ever on February 2, 1959. The Surf is an important place in the history of Rock and Roll. I worked there for a summer, the first concert I ever saw was here when I was 12 (Joan Jett and the Blackhearts) and my dad and one of the former managers of the Surf worked together for a few years. I think hanging out here as a kid it what made me want to be a musician.
