A wonderful article about the recent dumping of the Polka Grammy.
No 'One Last Dance'? Grammy Kills 'Polka' Category
By Crabby GolightlyIT'S AN AFFRONT TO POLKA LOVERS!
Please don't let the Polka Die!!
The Recording Academy will reduce by one the number of Grammys handed
out in January.
The polka album nod has been eliminated. In addition, the Recording
Academy split contemporary folk/Americana into two categories,
contemporary folk album and Americana album, while Latin urban album
will merge with Latin rock or alternative into a Latin rock,
alternative or urban album category.
When all is said and done, the total number of gold-plated trophies to
be handed out Jan. 31 will be 109.
Meanwhile, at the Recording Acad's annual spring trustees confab,
musicvid director-producer George Flanigen was elected chair of the
board of trustees, music supervisor-composer-film music exec Doug
Frank was elected vice chair, and engineer-producer Glenn Lorbecki was
elected secretary-treasurer. Previous chairman of the board Jimmy Jam
takes on the title chair emeritus.

We’ll be the polka meat in a very tasty musical sandwich! Specifically, we’ll be on after the super stylish Bombbone and before the incredible Sex With No Hands from San Francisco. This is one helluva line-up and sure to be an amazingly entertaining night!

Well come to the show and give us yer answer!
Thanks to Paul Dailing for including us in his project to spend this spring and summer going to as many concerts as he can. We were the first and he was nice enough to write a great review on his blog.
My favorite line of the review: "They have so much fun doing what they do that it's easy to forget that what they do is reeeeeeally hard."
Thanks Paul!!
